Georgettes of Oxford is delighted to offer Regency and Georgian Contra Dance Class open to all, the other an intermediate 17th – early 19th century historical dance class – both at the Chadwick Dance Studio, Cheney School, Cheney Lane, Headington, Oxford, OX3 7QH.

Regency and Georgian Contra Dance Class open to all
Autumn Term Dates: 4th of September, and 9th and 20th of November
Time: 7-9pm

Rehearsals for the Bodleian Dance display on the 4th of October: 25th of September, 2nd and 3rd of October
Rehearsals for the Regency Balls on the 6th and 12th of December: 27th of November, 4th and 11th of December
Rehearsals for the Georgian Twelfth Night Celebration on the 9th of January 2027: 11th of December 2026 and 8th of January 2027

How Much Does it Cost
The cost is £5 for the class
Once you have attended two classes, and decide you would like to continue, there is an annual fee (due in January) of £10 to cover insurance. Reduced to £5 if joining after June.
What to Wear and Bring
There is no kitchen, so it is advisable to bring a bottle of water with you.
Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear for moving and dancing around in.
Not essential but Ballet or Jazz shoes or Greek sandals are recommended for regular attendees.
No partner or costume necessary.
Over 18s only.
As well as learning dances our favourite Heroes and Heroines would have danced to, these are social dances and the aim is to have fun!
